A recent ACT research study of 359,000 students reveals that many students who are not college ready meet standards for career readiness, and accountability systems centered on college readiness standards typically underestimate students’ readiness for life after high school.
ACE Recommends College Credit for the WorkKeys NCRC
In 2025, the American Council on Education (ACE) recommended that colleges and universities in the lower-divisional baccalaureate/associate degree category award up to 9 semester hours of college credit to individuals who earn a WorkKeys NCRC at the Silver, Gold, or Platinum level.
