How does understanding the ACT College and Career Readiness Standards, paired with engaging curriculum and test practice, translate to stronger student outcomes?

Improving Outcomes Through Standards-Based Readiness: Strategies from ACT and MasteryPrep

Date: Thursday, Jan. 29
Time: 11:00 a.m. CT
Duration: 1 hour

The ACT® College and Career Readiness Standards form the backbone of every ACT® and PreACT® assessment. This framework of standards sets ACT assessments apart because it more fully defines the essential skills and knowledge students need to become college and career ready. ACT standards give a clearer meaning to students’ test scores and link what students have learned with what they’re ready to learn next.

In this session, Craig Gehring, founder and CEO of MasteryPrep, joins Darin Scheer, vice president of client relations at ACT, to explore how standards and data work together in a platform to guide effective instruction and test preparation.

Drawing on this strategic partnership and a unique combination of the comprehensive assessments, engaging platform tools, and experience in helping schools align instruction within the ACT framework, the discussion will highlight what standards-based readiness looks like in action and how it leads to measurable student growth.

What We’ll Cover:

  • How ACT College and Career Readiness Standards complement academic standards and classroom instruction.
  • Why alignment matters: Key insights from MasteryPrep and ACT’s work with schools.
